INFORMATION FOR MAKING MODELS

1. Fill the container with 750ml of normal-temperature drinking water and 225 gramme of mould powder.  (Please keep in mind that this quantity is for a single hand. The amount of water for a pair of hands is 1500ml, and the amount of powder is 450 gm.)

2. Quickly stir the liquid until it changes colour from powdered white to purple.

3. Set the timer for 90 seconds and wait.

4. Place your hand into the mixture while maintaining proper posture. (Avoid touching the container's bottom or sides.) The moulding powder will harden rapidly and the impression will not be properly formed, so insert your hand or item while it is still liquid.

5. Dip your hand or an item for 6-8 minutes, then wait for the liquid to harden and the mixture's colour to change from purple to blue. When pulling it out, move your wrist or object slowly. Loosen your hand or object and pull it out once the air has entered.

6. Fill the bowl with 175ml (350 ml for couples hands) drinking water and 500g (1000g for couples hands) casting powder.

7. Stir for 90 seconds, until it is homogeneous.

8. After removing the residue from the mould, pour the casting powder mixture into it.

9. Tap all sides of the barrel to remove air, then cure for 120 minutes before solidifying.

10. Remove the mold and spill out the sculpture that are inside.

Note: Before placing your hand in the mixture, apply a drop of baby oil or moisturizer lotion to the body area that has to be shaped.
